El Grande Americano gets his girlfriend back in AAA then picks a fight
El Grande Americano is a lover, and he is also a fighter. He did a little bit of both on Saturday night on the latest episode of Lucha Libre AAA (July 18, 2026). Well, I know for sure there was fighting. EGA and Dominik Mysterio hatched a trap for Los Perros del Mal. I’m assuming that the loving was behind closed doors or later into the night to celebrate the good news that Andrea Bazarte got her job back in AAA. First up is the story with Andrea. She was fired from AAA as part of a stipulation package from Chad Gable as Original Grande Americano to accept the mask versus mask match. Andrea was off camera for weeks until returning to root for her man as El Grande Americano prevailed. Last week, general manager Rey Mysterio requested her presence for a meeting. He wants to make things right. The lovely couple arrived in style to the venue in San Luis Potosi. Former WWE world champion debuts in AAA
AAA general manager Rey Mysterio promised a big surprise that was a former WWE world champion, and he delivered Damian Priest. Priest made his AAA debut on the latest episode airing Saturday night (July 4, 2026) taped from Merida, Mexico. Rey opened the show stating his goal to bring the biggest stars in the world to AAA. That’s when he introduced a man who represents lucha libre. That man is Priest. Speaking in Spanish to the crowd, Priest ran over the accomplishments of his career. He beat superstars around the globe, but he’s never competed in AAA. Priest is here to dominate. He warned rudos and tecnicos alike that they will fall to him in the ring. To anyone with a championship, Priest will get to know them well. All rise! AAA is back for another serving of lucha libre on Saturday night (July 4, 2026). Three matches are on the agenda, however, there could be bigger news coming from this episode. AAA general manager Rey Mysterio is working on a deal for the appearance of a former WWE world champion. That man should arrive on this episode, but I’m not 100% sure if that will be the case. Rey’s surprise wasn’t mentioned in the AAA preview material on social media. We’ll find out together. Nic Nemeth is the new world champion in TNA, and that brought out pompous bravado on Impact (July 2, 2026). So much so that Nemeth name-dropped John Cena and Randy Orton on the broadcast. Why would Nemeth refer to WWE legends on a TNA show? They are on the list of your favorite pro wrestlers that Nemeth has put down in the ring. Ryan Nemeth unrolled an actual list with fancy script. In addition to Cena and Orton, Nemeth also called out Ultimo Dragon, Kane, Evan Bourne, Cody Rhodes, Bobby Roode, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe, John Morrison and his many last names, and more victims.
