Nothing he did or did not do in the main event of night one of AAA Triplemania 34 in Las Vegas last night (Fri., Sept. 11, 2026) was going to change that. But I’ll be damned if he didn’t pull off yet another amazing feat. At 51-years-old, no less! This man went out there and had a legitimately entertaining battle against Omos in what was a perfectly executed David vs. Goliath style encounter. Mysterio is something like 5 ft, 6 inches tall while Omos is over 7 ft. There is no world where this should make any sense, but they figured out a way to pull it off. AAA dropped news at Triplemania 34 Night 1 to reveal the newest member of the Hall of Fame. Marisela Peña will be inducted at Heroes Inmortales on October 24 in Mexico City. La Lic. A freak show fight took center stage as the main event of WWE AAA Triplemania 34 Night 1 on Friday night (Sep. 11, 2026) from Las Vegas, and it was glorious. Rey Mysterio battled the giant Omos. In the tale of the tape, the lucha libre legend was giving up nearly two feet in height and over 200 pounds in weight. In the end, Rey could not overcome the goliath. The freak show vibe was strong for this bout. I got goosebumps looking at the size difference. There was also the unknown factor of how Omos would perform. He’s been used sparingly enough that I didn’t know what to expect from him in the ring for a match of this magnitude.
