El Grande Americano gets his girlfriend back in AAA then picks a fight
El Grande Americano is a lover, and he is also a fighter. He did a little bit of both on Saturday night on the latest episode of Lucha Libre AAA (July 18, 2026). Well, I know for sure there was fighting. EGA and Dominik Mysterio hatched a trap for Los Perros del Mal. I’m assuming that the loving was behind closed doors or later into the night to celebrate the good news that Andrea Bazarte got her job back in AAA. First up is the story with Andrea. She was fired from AAA as part of a stipulation package from Chad Gable as Original Grande Americano to accept the mask versus mask match. Andrea was off camera for weeks until returning to root for her man as El Grande Americano prevailed. Last week, general manager Rey Mysterio requested her presence for a meeting. He wants to make things right. The lovely couple arrived in style to the venue in San Luis Potosi. Ludwig Kaiser’s side of the story confirmed as he requests dismissal of battery charge

His accuser, a man named Richard Reap, claimed that Kaiser and his girlfriend were acting in an “uncontrollably intimate” manner on the elevator. Reap says Kaiser attacked him for simply asking them to stop. Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, plays El Grande Americano for WWE’s lucha libre brand AAA in Mexico. His arrest came just a week before EGA’s mask vs. mask match against Chad Gable, which the German wrestler won to cement himself as an unlikely 21st century Mexican folk hero. El Grande Americano’s legend grows at the World Cup despite Mexico’s loss
The legend grows. But unfortunately for the great people of Mexico, even their WWE-created folk hero couldn’t help El Tri overcome a quick two-goal deficit to England, even on the Azteca Stadium pitch where they’ve been nigh-unbeatable over the years, and where the Three Lions lost one of football/soccer’s most famous games at the 1986 World Cup. It was still quite something to see El Grande Americano — a “legendary luchador” who didn’t exist two years ago, and certainly wouldn’t have been leading contingent of in front of 80,000+ in Mexico City last night (July 5) — had WWE not purchased Lucha Libre AAA last year. That chant, “Y, si, si”, is the catchphrase that’s grown in popularity during Mexico’s 2026 World Cup run. It roughly translates to “what if we do?”, and seems to be catching on as a broader national slogan. Perros del Mal ruin AAA main event, and El Grande Americano wants revenge
Los Perros del Mal struck again, but those dogs won’t go unpunished. El Grande Americano is coming for revenge. Two weeks ago in AAA, Perro Aguayo Jr.’s faction was reignited when Daga, Angel Garza, Humberto Carillo, Bronco Nima, and Karmen Petrovic ambushed El Grande Americano. That was a heck of a way to make a name for themselves. The following week, the group promo vignette aired about hell liberating them. Los Perros urinated on AAA’s carpet during the latest episode of lucha libre action airing Saturday night (July 4, 2026) taped from Merida, Mexico. They enacted the same trick to ruin the main event between El Fiscal and Abismo Negro Jr. The masked men collided in a double clothesline. That’s when Petrovic frolicked to the ring. Boom! The rest of the Perros rushed in to inflict pain. They held up Fiscal to be victim for Petrovic’s wicked kick.
