AEW says this former titleholder is ‘out indefinitely’ after new champ’s attack

Hikaru Shida won the TBS title vacated by the recently returned Willow Nightingale in Survival of the Fittest earlier this month. Shida defended her title last Saturday on AEW Collision against Nightingale’s former AEW Tag titleholding partner Harley Cameron. The champ got a submission win over the multi-talented Australian, but Shida’s getting into her heel groove and wasn’t going to settle for the tap out. Cameron was spared too much of a post-match beating thanks to the arrival of Queen Aminata… … but it turns out the damage had been done. On Dynamite last night (July 15), commentary mentioned that Cameron is “out of action indefinitely”. There’s been no reporting on a legitimate injury to Harley. But while we can’t rule one out, this would add motivation for someone like Nightingale or Kris Statlander to end Shida’s reign.
