AEW Dynamite recap, reactions (July 15, 2026): Redemption main event
There was one big question heading into AEW Dynamite (July 15, 2026). The Redemption PPV is next weekend, and the main event hadn’t been established yet. We received that answer for Kenny Omega’s first world title defense. Plus, three more championship bouts were booked, the Painmaker returned, Mercedes Moné main-evented in her hometown, and more from MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Massachusetts. Redemption main event Prior to Dynamite, the only match on the Redemption card was Thekla defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Willow Nightingale. It was unclear how AEW would proceed in the men’s world title picture. Kenny Omega won the gold last week from MJF, and promotion is full speed ahead for Omega versus Will Ospreay at All In in Wembley Stadium. Who would Omega face at the PPV in between? AEW announces All Out’s return to Chicago with a CM Punk-coded graphic
The initial reaction wrestling fans online had to Tony Khan’s announcement that AEW All Out is returning to the greater Chicago area this year was expressed by both Cagesiders who shared the news in The Feed today (July 6, 2026). Essentially, it’s “why does TK keeping running the same towns?” In addition to that Sat., Sept. 26 event, the question can also be applied to today’s announcement of Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor PPV for Philadelphia on Fri., Aug. 21. As GM05 did: All Out has been held in Hoffman Estates, Illinois all but twice in AEW’s existence 2020’s pandemic era show and last year’s in Toronto. That includes 2022 edition that was followed by CM Punk’s media scrum pipe bomb and the Brawl Out fight that included Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Ace Steel. The Young Bucks have no idea when Hangman Page will return to AEW
Hangman Page has been gone from AEW programming ever since he lost against AEW World Champion MJF in the main event of the Revolution pay-per-view over three months ago. Due to his absence, we’ve never seen Hangman’s response to the fact that he can never challenge for the AEW world title ever again. AEW All In London at Wembley Stadium is coming up at the end of August, which has led to anticipation for Page’s return. AEW may have even foreshadowed it when Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland each stole his finishing moves over the weekend in the main event of Forbidden Door. With that in mind, the Young Bucks did a live stream on YouTube yesterday where they were asked when Page will return to AEW. Even though they regularly talk to Hangman, Matt and Nick Jackson swear they have no idea when that will happen. Matt: “When will we see Hangman again? I have no idea. I have no earthly idea.
