Paul Wight returned to the ring because Sting’s son needed rescuing

The Giant formerly known as The Big Show in WWE, Paul Wight, has been talking about getting back in the ring for a few months. The 54-year-old has also been showing off the hard work he put into his goal of getting physical on a pro wrestling show for the first time since early 2024, when he did so on Chris Jericho’s cruise. Before the Beach Break edition of Dynamite last night (July 8) in Fort Lauderdale, Wight was doing promotional work for the live show in Florida and said he might “slap some people around” for the folks in attendance. We also thought we spied him in ring attire on the pre-show Twitch stream. It wasn’t just a tease, and that was his ring gear. We saw it when he made his way down to the ring to save Steve Borden, Jr. and Sting’s son’s tag partner Kiran Grey when they were being attacked by The Swirl. A firsthand account of the night Randy Savage joined the nWo

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em: Randy Savage put his feelings for Hulk Hogan aside and joined the nWo at SuperBrawl VII. | (Photo: WWE) WWE’s week-long 30th anniversary celebration of the New World Order continued Wednesday, with footage uploaded to YouTube from the night Randy Savage shocked the world and essentially decided, “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.” The event was SuperBrawl VII, which took place February 23, 1997, at San Francisco’s historic Cow Palace. The main event was Hogan defending the WCW Championship against “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.  I was there that night, floor level, seated about seven rows back from where WWE’s announcers sit today. To say pandemonium broke out would be an understatement, though depending on where you were sitting, it wasn’t immediately clear what had happened. Midway through the match, Savage and Sting emerged in the aisle. From my vantage point, I couldn’t see them, but as the Cow Palace began to rumble, word spread fast that the two were stan

Count Darby Allin out on wrestling Mick Foley

(Photo by Frank Jansky/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images) | Icon Sportswire via Getty Images When Mick Foley was asked recently about having one more match now that he’s signed to AEW, he mentioned being on record that Darby Allin “would be a dream opponent.” That match is not going to happen, though, because the man himself is not on board with it. That’s what he told The Takedown in a recent interview: “I would never wrestle Mick. I would never wrestle against Mick. Would I team with him? Absolutely. I would team with him in a heartbeat. Just like I would never wrestle Sting. I would love to team with him. But that’s the thing for Mick to answer. What does he feel in his career that, if he would even need that, if there’s any questions unanswered?” But why? “I don’t feel like I’d get out of it what we want, I feel like there’s a lot more meat on the bone
