One former WWE champ’s return is closer — and maybe another, too
Drew McIntyre’s been away from our pro wrestling programming since dropping an unsanctioned match to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42 in April. Since then, he’s been busy with his burgeoning acting career. That’s included shooting the Highlander reboot with Henry Cavill, Dave Bautista and Russell Crowe, and The Last Druid, also with Crowe, in Europe. At some point, it either has or will still involve working in one of the “microdramas” WWE will be producing.
The last rumor we had about McIntyre’s WWE return came about a month ago, and said there wasn’t any creative ready for Drew’s return. But today (Sept. 25), Big D posted a video of himself in the ring at Rusev’s school in Nashville.
