Young Bucks get blockbuster match for AEW Redemption PPV

The tag team division in AEW is about to explode with epic matches galore. Speculation is increasing that the New Day and the Motor City Machine Guns are soon to be All Elite. Not to mention that the Young Bucks have yet to wrestle Adam Copeland and Christian Cage face to face. That dream match appears to be simmering for All In. In the meantime, the Young Bucks got themselves a blockbuster match for Redemption. During Collision (July 18, 2026), The Jackson boys had the testicular fortitude to call out Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay for the PPV. This isn’t just about the testing themselves to prove they are the top team in AEW. The bigger picture for the Young Bucks is to protect Kenny Omega. Sir Kenneth has a date to defend the AEW World Championship against Ospreay at All In. The Bucks don’t like seeing Kenny get chummy with Bruv, because they suspect it is a trap from the Death Riders. Matt and Nick want to prove that Ospreay can not be trusted now that he is a member of Moxley’s crew.

Interim champions have their place in wrestling, but not without a cost

WWE will crown an Interim Women’s Champion at SummerSlam. | (Photo: WWE) With WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley sidelined with a knee injury, WWE announced Friday that a ladder match to crown an interim champion will take place at SummerSlam. The decision follows a practice long used in MMA, which took its lead from boxing. In the 1990s, the World Boxing Association introduced the concept to keep championships active when a champion couldn’t defend because of injury or illness. When the champion returned, the interim titleholder would become the mandatory challenger. Immediately, that created a built-in marquee match to determine the true champion. Historically in pro wrestling, injured champions were often stripped of their titles, and a new champion was crowned. That tradition was eventually challenged by AEW, which popularized the concept of interim champions, leading to a fiery storyline in 2022. After World Champion CM Punk was injured, Jon Moxley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi at th

D-Von Dudley reacts to Bully Ray saying he can ‘beat the s**t’ out of Jon Moxley

Speaking on the most recent episode of his podcast, D-Von Dudley addressed Bully Ray, aka Bubba Ray Dudley, recently saying he could “beat the living s**t” out of Jon Moxley. Bully made headlines last month when he made the statement about Moxley on the Busted Open podcast while discussing the AEW star and his Death Riders stable. “The Death Riders have not helped AEW in any way, shape, or form. The Death Riders are Jon Moxley playing out his pro wrestling fantasies because he’s got Tony [Khan’s] ear. Because he wants to be Terry Funk? I would kick the shit outta Jon Moxley… I’d beat the living shit out of him. Fraud.” The remarks resulted in an immediate reaction from wrestler/mixed martial arts professional Josh Barnett, who wrote on X (Twitter) that “Mox can handle himself just fine, so he doesn’t need me to fight any battles for him, but if you ever have the itch to feel what it would be like to have your ass kicked so thoroughly to the point of epic humiliation, I can help you w

AEW reveals some of its big plans for Kevin Knight

Before Dynamite tonight (July 15), Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez followed-up on the Fightful report Geno shared in last night’s Rumor Roundup about AEW’s plans for TNT champion Kevin Knight. Alvarez posted that “as of a few days ago, Kenny Omega vs. Kevin Knight was the Redemption title match”. Sure enough, by the time AEW’s live show from Boston was done, Knight was booked to challenge Omega for his freshly won AEW World title at next Sunday’s PPV in Montreal. He and the new champ agreed to it during Kenny’s celebration on Dynamite Wednesday night. That also featured Owen Cup winner Will Ospreay, who will challenge whoever hold AEW’s top prize come Aug. 30 when All In returns to Wembley Stadium. Ospreay was respectful of his old rival and hero before Knight arrived, despite the coaching of his new Death Riders mentor Jon Moxley. The Jet was less so, demanding the shot he’s “owed” because MJF promised it to him before Omega’s Ospreay-ensured win last week. Despite this, the champ

D-Von Dudley Unsure If Bully Ray’s Comments On Jon Moxley Were A Work

D-Von Dudley isn’t sure what to make of Bully Ray‘s recent comments about Jon Moxley. Speaking on his podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer addressed Bubba Ray Dudley’s controversial remarks on Busted Open, where the former Team 3D member unloaded on Moxley and AEW’s Death Riders faction. Bubba claimed the Death Riders “have not helped […] The post D-Von Dudley Unsure If Bully Ray’s Comments On Jon Moxley Were A Work appeared first on Wrestlezone.

Rumor Look Back: Dec. 28, 2025 – Jan. 4, 2026

Lee South Jon Moxley vs Josh Alexander Omaha, NE AEW Dynamite New Years Smash December 31, 2025 | Lee South for All Elite Wrestling Welcome to the weekly Rumor Look Back, where we look at the rumors from six months ago and see which played out as originally stated. Let’s jump right to it. December 29, 2025 In The Daily Update, Dave Meltzer noted it’s accurate that Chris Jericho’s contract with AEW is up on Wednesday and it’s been the expectation for months that he would be going back to WWE. However, he still can’t say that with 100-percent certainty. He did not go back to WWE. (0/1) Meltzer also said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jon Moxley’s babyface turn at Worlds End is tied to AEW trying to reverse negativity attached to them from late 2023 and throughout much of 2024. Is it a babyface turn? That’s one of Moxley’s biggest problems – he is heel sometimes and babyface sometimes but it’s not consistent and it hinders the narrative. And now Will Ospreay is tied to that as he goes

AEW Dynamite recap, reactions (July 1, 2026): MJF’s big stipulation

AEW Dynamite rocked with loads of storyline material on Wednesday night (July 1, 2026). The episode featured MJF issuing a big stipulation for Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay giving his answer about joining the Death Riders, crowning a new TBS champion in Survival of the Fittest, and more from Viejas Arena in San Diego, California. MJF’s big stipulation Big Hebrew came up with a big stipulation after Kenny Omega ran his mouth about his desire to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship. This episode intertwined the stories of MJF, Ospreay, and Omega throughout the show, so I’m going to cover the segments in order. Dynamite opened with an interesting scene post-Forbidden Door. Jon Moxley offered Ospreay an official spot in the Death Riders. When Ospreay inquired about what ‘it’ is, Mox answered with a sensei riddle. “He who defines himself can never know who he really is.” Mox’s pitch was to elevate AEW to where the best wrestle. He handed Ospreay the Death Riders patch, and Ospreay was i
