Bishop Dyer (aka Baron Corbin) stripped of MLW tag titles
The man known as Baron Corbin is a prized free agent. Even though he won’t show his hand, rumors point to signing with WWE. Corbin competes in MLW as Bishop Dyer, and they turned this drama into a storyline. When contract negotiations came to a standstill, MLW stripped Dyer of the tag team titles. That left Donovan Dijak in the lurch forced to choose a new partner by the end of the night on Fusion (July 4, 2026). Dijak revealed the third member of the Skyscrapers, and he is a bruiser. Rich Bocchini dished the scoop to update Dyer’s status. Dyer used the tag belt as leverage to request a salary bump and demands that would make a billionaire blush. MLW had enough and locked him out until he returned with a reasonable mindset. MLW then issued an ultimatum to Dijak. Find a new partner by the end of Fusion or else he will also be stripped of the MLW World Tag Team Championship. Rich Bocchini has an update regarding Bishop Dyer’s contract dispute with MLW, and it’s bad news for @DijakFYE!

Watch MLW Fusion (July 4, 2026): Baron Corbin news, Teddy Long returns
Major League Wrestling is ready for the Fourth of July with fireworks on Fusion (July 4, 2026). The weekly installment features news on the free agent status of Bishop Dyer (aka Baron Corbin), a Bunkhouse Stampede to crown the inaugural Southern Crown champion, and the return of Teddy Long, playa. Rumors are raging that Dyer is heading to WWE. MLW is working that angle on TV by saying that Dyer presented outrageous demands to be re-signed. The issue is that Dyer holds the MLW World Tag Team Championship with Donovan Dijak. It sounds like MLW is putting pressure on Dijak to pick a new partner or vacate the titles. MLW is introducing the new Southern Crown Championship to honor the history of southern wrestling. The match of choice to crown the inaugural titleholder is a multi-man Bunkhouse Stampede. How do we feel about the rumored upcoming WWE signings?
I was cruising around on social media when I came across the following: Potential WWE arrivals. • Mike Santana • Hiromu Takahashi • Baron Corbin • Zilla Fatu • Enzo Amore • Big Cass pic.twitter.com/W73oh0wBHT — Finesse (@ProWFinesse) July 1, 2026 “Potential” is the right word to use because it isn’t an absolute certainty any of the six listed here will actually be signed by WWE and put on television until they show up on Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, or NXT. It’s an intriguing list of names. Santana was a tag star who reinvented himself as a top guy for TNA, Takahashi has spent is entire career in Japan and brings a style WWE is deeply lacking, and Fatu has tremendous upside even beyond his obvious ties to The Bloodline. Then you have the former WWE mainstays who were let go for various reasons and managed to do well enough for themselves elsewhere that the decision was made to bring them back into the fold.
