Report: Kairi Sane in talks with AEW but no deal signed yet

Following WrestleMania 42, WWE underwent a drastic overhaul of its roster in the form of massive cuts to the talent pool. Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Alba Fyre, the entirety of The Wyatt Sicks faction, and Kairi Sane were chief among them, the latter of which provoked quite a bit of discussion for how bewildering it was. When she finally spoke on it last month, she called it a huge shock, saying it was out of the blue for her just as much as anyone else. Naturally, in the wake of her release, talk quickly turned to how soon AEW would come calling. There was talk that a number of promotions reached out to her as soon as they were able, and she confirmed as much when she spoke out. AEW, presumably, was among them. Well, Fightful Select has now reported the two sides have engaged in discussions but she has not signed a contract just yet. That she has enlisted Barry Bloom as a manager for all business inquiries surely helps, considering Bloom represents a lot of the top talent in AEW. It

(Photo by Craig Melvin/WWE via Getty Images) | WWE via Getty Images This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter provides a useful reminder for wrestling fans that the free agent market is about to go crazy in the middle of next week. That’s because WWE released a whole bunch of talented stars after WrestleMania 42, and many of those 90-day non compete clauses are ending next week. “These former WWE wrestlers become free agents at midnight on 7/23: Taylor Rotunda/Bo Dallas, 36, Joseph Ruby, 38, (Joe Gacy), Joseph Ruud, 44 (Erick Rowan), Samuel Shaw, 42 (Dexter Lumis), Tom Budgen, (Aleister Black), Thea Trinidad Budgen, 35 (Zelina Vega), Kairi Housako, 37 (Kairi Sane), Jorge Alcantar, 42 (Santos Escobar), Theresa Serrano, 32 (Zoey Stark), Chris Sabin, 44 and Patrick Martin, 43 (Alex Shelley).” It’s a loaded list of t

Rumor Roundup (July 6, 2026): Sheamus leaving WWE, CM Punk return, Bad Bunny, more!

Let’s start the week strong. Sheamus gone from WWE The big news of the weekend came in yesterday when it was reported by Fightful that Sheamus will be leaving WWE at the expiration of his contract. It wasn’t made clear exactly when that will be but fans have noticed that at some point during the evening, he was moved to the Alumni section of WWE.com. He also changed his name on Twitter to S. Farrelly. The Wrestling Observer has stated this is identical to the situation The New Day were in, where they were offered restructured deals and turned it down. Dave Meltzer gave no indication on his possibly signing with AEW, simply saying “it will be interesting” to see if they do sign him. He also said he assumes some of the pending free agents later this month — New Day, Alesiter Black, Zoey Stark, etc — will end up in AEW but not all. To wrap it up on at least something of a good note, WrestleVotes made sure to say Sheamus is “one of the most, if not THE most respected talents in today’s loc
