In a 2001 interview with Slam Wrestling, Kamala opened up about his 1992 return to WWE. Despite working for the industry’s biggest promotion, he said he still had to split rental cars and share hotel rooms with other performers to save money. Aware of his financial situation, Kamala said Warrior offered to help: “He said, ‘Kamala, I know you aren’t making much money. I just don’t see how you can do it. Anytime we’re booked against each other and we’re on the same flight, just hop in the limousine with me. Hell, I don’t have to pay for it, the [WWE’s] paying for it.
