In 1986, the future Hall of Famer left the Universal Wrestling Federation, where he was known as Blade Runner Rock, and joined World Class Championship Wrestling. There he became the Dingo Warrior. In an episode of Dark Side of the Ring about Warrior, former World Class referee David Manning recalled that someone pitched the idea of a “wild dog” to match the “wild warrior” concept the promotion had for the larger-than-life powerhouse. In the 2014 WWE DVD Ultimate Warrior: The Ultimate Collection, Warrior offered a different origin story.
