Tony Khan and Scott D’Amore team up for the streaming fight

Wrestling companies big and small are grabbing whatever parcels of territory they can on the streaming map* these days. As Paramount Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery overcomes one Trump-lowered hurdle after another, it seems all-but-certain there will soon be one less color on that map. International distribution was one reason Tony Khan’s company launched their own MyAEW streamer this year. But the possibility a merged Paramount-WBD super corporation will decide it doesn’t want WWE and AEW’s products sitting next to each other on ParaMAX+ (or whatever mash-up of streaming service names tests best with focus groups) is likely another. Khan is a proud “sicko” who simply can’t watch enough pro wrestling, and that’s his core audience. So it makes sense to bolster MyAEW with other companies’ wrestling shows, both from U.S. independents and international promotions. Today (July 10), My AEW announced they’re a new home for one of Canada’s highest profile feds, Maple Leaf Pro
