Either Punk or someone writing his promos has been reading reports from the wrestling dirtsheets (several of which have been aggregated right here on Cageside) and decided to incorporate the rumors into the story, or several of those reports were, in fact, true. Namely: Punk mentioned that NBCUniversal has been wanting him to be featured on Smackdown for a long time. With the help of Nick Aldis, those negotiations finally got over the finish line on Monday night, conveniently while Raw was happening just a few miles from Punk’s home.
