Since word came out that Bayley’s current WWE contract would be expiring at the end of this year, she’s teased the idea of joining her wrestling soulmate Mercedes Moné in AEW — as has Moné. That coinciding with her month-plus absence for WWE television spurred speculation, but then Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer and others noted that Bayley’s name was coming up on Raw a lot. That was taken as a credible sign Bayley wouldn’t be benched until her contract was up, and that WWE thought it could keep her in the fold.
