Nic Nemeth ties Kurt Angle for rare feat in TNA main event of Lockdown

The main event for TNA Lockdown (Aug. 23, 2026) had an unexpected result, and it goes down as a rare feat in the record books. After the Nemeths defeated the Hardys to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship, Nemeth joins Kurt Angle as the only men to hold the tag titles and the TNA World Championship at the same time. Angle accomplished that history in 2007. We’ll see how long Nemeth’s double reign lasts. Option C was cashed in to close the PPV (full results). At Lockdown, every match was inside a steel cage. The Hardys entered as tag team champions. I’ll be generous and say very few people thought the Nemeths would win this match. Personally, I doubt anyone did.
