WWE gave new Perros del Mal a key piece of the group’s past at Triplemania

Having found the beloved babyface it can build its new lucha libre property around — in a German playing a made-up American lucha libre legend, of all things — WWE is now in the business of setting up formidable and menacing heels for the heroic El Grande Americano to battle and ultimately put down in AAA. Toward that end, AAA brought back one of the hottest lucha acts of the 21st century, the rudo group Perros del Mal. Made up of previous Perros member Daga, Hector Garza’s nephews Angel & Berto, and NXT’s Karmen Petrovic, the new Perros are obviously missing deceased founder Perro Aguayo Jr. That didn’t seem to be the only thing they were missing heading into Triplemania 34 this past weekend. But even though they didn’t pick up the big addition some of us were predicting, the latest incarnation of Perros del Mal did get an upgrade. It was a blast from the past that had the Arena CMDX crowd rocking Mexico City last night (Sept. 13). It happened when the group hit the ring to beat down
