AEW Dynamite recap, reactions (Aug. 5, 2026): Will Ospreay smells blood at Grand Slam Mexico

AEW delivered the goods for Grand Slam Mexico (Aug. 5, 2026). This special episode of Dynamite featured Will Ospreay getting bloody in a street fight, Hangman Page & Brodido winning the trios titles, Kyle Fletcher tearing the house down with “Speedball” Mike Bailey, MJF returning to ambush Andrade, and more from Arena Mexico in Mexico City. Grand Slam Mexico felt like a special event in a historic venue with a rowdy crowd. It was clear that these were AEW fans and not just lucha libre fans taking in a random show. They were hot for the babyfaces, such as Adam Copeland and Will Ospreay. They knew the chants and sang Cope’s theme song. One of the few times that the fans went against the grain was rooting for Persephone. Even though she is a ruda in CMLL, they often cheer for her, so this wasn’t out of the ordinary. Shout out to the fans for providing that element of excitement, which elevates a show. Special touches were Mistico’s entrance. There's nothing like a @CaristicoMX entrance
