WWE won’t be baffled by Persephone’s booking at AEW Grand Slam Mexico
Late last week, there was a rumor that WWE was baffled by the way Tony Khan books CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone to take so many losses on AEW programming. I have to agree that’s a little surprising to see the world champ of another promotion lose like it’s not a big deal. You know, like how AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio is booked in WWE. At any rate, Persephone was booked in a non-title match tonight (Aug. 5) at Grand Slam Mexico against a former AEW women’s world champion, Kris Statlander. The CMLL women’s world champ couldn’t possibly lose on her home turf at Arena Mexico, right? Business picked up when Persephone verbally got into it with Mexican National Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa at ringside, which appeared to be a setup for a future title match between them. That verbal conflict turned into a physical one, with a ref bump included, late in the match. Persephone's business with @ThunderRosa22 at ringside led to the referee being knocked out!
