WWE NXT Recap & Reactions (Aug. 4th, 2026): Underground Turns Grey

For much of 2026, the rivalry between Kendal Grey and Lola Vice has been the focal point of not just the NXT women’s division but the entire NXT roster. Vice outlasted Kendal in a triple threat match with Jacy Jayne back at Stand & Deliver to become the NXT Women’s Champion and held the belt until Grey bested her at the Great American Bash at the end of June. After winning a #1 contender’s match a few weeks ago, Lola set herself up to recapture the championship and become just the fifth woman in history to hold the NXT Women’s Championship multiple times. A rivalry that was relatively civil and respectful heading into the Bash got cranked up a notch two weeks ago when Vice and Grey agreed to compete in the NXT Underground.
