WWE is taking over Sirius XM’s wrestling channel

In The Feed earlier this week, Cagesider ringthebell and I had a bit of back-and-forth about Bully Ray’s behind-the-scenes stories of WWE champ CM Punk and Cody Rhodes in New York last weekend on Busted Open Radio. Those stories conveniently advanced the SummerSlam storyline between Punk and Rhodes, and given Bully’s WWE job (as a coach and Legend on A&E’s LFG) we wondered how “in on the work” he was — and what that said about WWE’s larger content strategy under TKO. We won’t say that this press release confirms our suspicions, but Busted Open’s long-time home on SiriusXM’s pro wrestling-focused channel 156 just changed its name to WWE Radio. Dave LaGreca’s daily talk show with a rotating cast of co-hosts will now be joined by WWE’s podcast line-up, and oddly enough audio-only streams of big premium live events like Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and next weekend’s SummerSlam.
