There’s only one former World champion on the WWE Money in the Bank 2026 poster

Perhaps because the first two briefcases led to Edge (now Adam Copeland*) and RVD winning their first WWE World titles, we wrestling fans often want the Money in the Bank winner to be a rising star who should be a main eventer. That “should be” is subjective, of course, and we wrestling fans get pretty attached to our opinions and our favorites. That leads to our sometimes getting emotionally invested in things like whether or not WWE chooses the same wrestler to win Money in the Bank that we would have if we were in charge of creative. WWE knows this. So even if Cody Rhodes and Charlotte Flair are booked to win this year’s oft-moved edition — it finally landed in New Orleans on Oct. 10 — they’re going to play into the idea that someone who’s never been a World champ before can, maybe even will, win a briefcase three months from now in the Big Easy.
