Raquel Rodriguez wins Intercontinental championship
This is almost hard to believe, considering how she was booked during a fairly dominant run in NXT, but Raquel Rodriguez had never won a singles championship on the WWE main roster until tonight. She captured the Intercontinental championship by defeating Sol Ruca on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, to a loud ovation. She did so while busted up, and with a whole lot of help from her Judgment Day stablemates. World Champion Liv Morgan originally interfered but Iyo Sky, her challenger at SummerSlam, rushed out to even the odds there. However, Ruca was unlucky to not have a second helper like Rodriguez, who had Roxanne Perez right there to give her a big assist. One Tejana Bomb later and it was over. .@RaquelWWE is the NEW Intercontinental CHAMPION 🏆 WOW! pic.twitter.com/70XwKFrLBl — WWE (@WWE) July 28, 2026 This brings an end to a relatively unmemorable reign for Ruca, who captured the gold on May 31 when she defeated Becky Lynch
