It sounds like people in WWE were not happy about the New York Knicks dominating Saturday Night’s Main Event

There was a lot of New York Knicks related content this past weekend (July 18) when WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event took place at the team’s home venue of Madison Square Garden. Not only did star center Karl-Anthony Towns destroy JD McDonagh and chokeslam “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio through a table, but NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson got a huge spotlight in the show-closing angle with Seth Rollins and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. That took priority as the main event segment of the night over Cody Rhodes and WWE Champion CM Punk, who actually wrestled in a long match. WrestleVotes Radio now reports that “day-to-day decision makers” in WWE were not “enthusiastic” about how much of the SNME broadcast was dominated by the Knicks’ presence.
