He even has some ideas for AEW. The actor first crossed over in the world of professional wrestling when he starred in the 2000 comedy Ready to Rumble, which was based on WCW. The film featured many of the promotion’s biggest stars, and Arquette made appearances on WCW programming around the time of the movie’s release. He was soon wrestling for WCW, which led to the much-maligned match that saw him win the world title. An episode of WCW Thunder in April 2000 featured a tag team match between Arquette and Diamond Dallas Page (the champion) versus Jeff Jarrett and WCW executive Eric Bischoff.
