Don’t worry, Chelsea Green is still WWE women’s champion

When Chelsea Green won the Interim WWE women’s championship at SummerSlam, it was a genuine feel good moment that had the entire crowd on their feet in applause. The pop for it was legendary, and instantly became a career defining moment for a wrestler who has struggled to break through to the top. And then she got injured. During a tag team match against Fatal Influence, Green broke her orbital bone. WWE played with the idea of stripping her of the title as part of the storyline but ultimately decided she could keep it if she could get cleared to compete within a month. She bedazzled a mask and loaded up to do just that within just a couple of weeks. Her first challenge came in the form of a wrestler known for breaking faces — Nia Jax.
